Christantus Uche Ignites Comfortable Palace Victory at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their first-ever continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting at a rapid pace. Without key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding result that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further three points in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure straight entry to the last 16, particularly after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity
This match provided a chance for several Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season were no match even for a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were already weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee problems.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of comically weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for improvement in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
